Most people spend more than 70% of their time with laptop in a day. Hence, it is very important to take care of it and keep it safely. It is first of all advised that you should keep the Liquid stuff far away from the laptop.

But what if Liquid spilled on your dear laptop accidentally? It will surely have calamitous consequences.

Not to worry but, Here’s the way to clean up the mess :

1. Instantly after the spill, remove the battery, unplug the adapter and the other things connected to that. this will prevent and stop a short circuit, which might happen even though it’s switched off. Removing the power and battery right away is crucial because the damaging electrical activity begins as shortly as the liquid comes into contact with the circuits.

2. Use paper towels or a soft, dry lint-free material to absorb surface liquids.

3. If your keyboard can be simply removed , remove it and pour out any liquid contained within the keyboard enclosure. New and updated laptops have liquid resistant keyboards.

4. Flip it over to let the liquid drip out and to stop moisture from going deeper into the laptop.

5. Once you have removed the keymat, use a new and soft toothbrush or lint-free material to carefully brush off any dried residue from drinks cola or tea leaves behind. Do not wipe off the residue. You are advised to try a vacuum cleaner with a low power mode to determine that there is no harm in the internal circuits or delicate elements or parts.

6. Do not switch on your laptop immediately to check. Have patience and let it dry for at least one hour.
