Recently visited one of the most beautiful place in India - Jageshwar. Jageshwar town is located at an altitude of 1870 meters above sea level. God Shiva’s ling in temples are known as Swayam Ling as it has come automatically and we can see gap in ling which resembles Ardha Nageshwar and his wife goddess Parvati along side.
The Jageshwar temple has great religious value. I visited in Kartik maas of Hindu Calendar and come to know that daily 5 pandit’s performs Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra and pooja throughout this religious month.
Shiva temple located in Jageshwar is one of the oldest God Shiva in India. This temple is located in Almora District and is 101 kms far from Nainital.
In Jageshwar I spotted 124 small and large temples which belong to 9th and 13th century AD as per ASI - Archaeological Survey of India.
