There are numerous skin care and beauty products available in the market for dry skin, but using a homemade skin care product has no match. It is free from all the chemicals and preservative and above all, they are made in front of your eyes with 100% natural products, so you can trust blindly on those products. I personally prefer using homemade products for my skin as it saves money, time and very effective.

Face scrub plays a very important role in your beauty regime. It takes away all the impurities from your skin while making it healthy, supple and youthful. Here are my top 5 homemade scrubs for dry skin, which will not only clean your skin but will also take care of it making it more fresh, supple and healthy.

Coffee grounds      
            
Coffee grounds are good to revitalize all types of skin. It works very efficiently for dry skin.  This is the simplest homemade scrub for dry skin. 

You just need to grind up some coffee. You can also use the leftover grounds from your morning coffee’s cup. In 1 tbsp of coffee, add 1 tbsp of water. Mix well. Apply this mixture on your face and scrub it in a circular motion. Scrub for 4 - 6 minutes and then rinse it off. Pat your face dry. This will naturally exfoliate your skin which removing the dead skin cells from it leaving it fresh and cleansed.

Cleansing Cream and Sugar Scrub

Splash a little lukewarm water on your face. Using a soft cloth, gently scrub it to dry. Take 1 tbsp of cleansing cream in a bowl. Add 2 tbsp fine grained sugar to it. Mix well to create a gritty paste. Apply this mixture on your face. Scrub it in circular motion. Try covering little lines, dry spots and side of the nose. Avoid applying it on your eyes. Now wet a soft washcloth with lukewarm water. Remove scrub from your face gently using washcloth. Finish this scrubbing session by splashing cold water on your face.

This will close your pores and freshen’ up your face. Dry, using a soft towel.

Green Tea and Honey Scrub

Green tea acts as an anti-aging agent for your skin. It helps in reducing blemishes and wrinkles and repair scar tissue. 

Brew a mug of extra-strength loose green tea. Pour 1 tbsp of it into a bowl. Allow it to cool down for few minutes. Add 1 tbsp sugar into it. Stir well. Now pour 1 tbsp of honey to it. Mix thoroughly. Honey has great antibacterial and moisturizing properties. 

Apply this scrub on your face. Scrub all over your face focusing on the spots that are dry. Remove it using a washcloth. Rinse your face with cold water.

Coconut Oil and Lemon 

Coconut oil is a good and age-old skin tonic while lemon exfoliates and softens your skin. Oil-based scrubs are very best for dry skin. 

Take ½ cup of coconut oil. If coconut oil is not available, you may use olive oil or almond oil in its place but use of peanut oil, vegetable oil or canola oil should be strictly avoided. Add 2 tbsp sugar to it and mix well. Now add 1 tbsp lemon juice to this mixture. This increases the cleansing properties of this scrub. Scrub it all over your freshly washed face. Wash it off by splashing cold water on your face. 

Almond Meal Scrub

Though Almond meal is available in every store but you can also make it at your home easily. Just take raw almonds in a food processor and pulse until they have turned to a fine grained almond meal. Now in 1 cup of Almond Meal, add ½ cup of almond oil or olive oil. Add few drops of essential oils. Lemon, lavender, rose and other essential oils make this scrub more luxurious. Now scrub it all over your face. Wash it off using cold water and pat dry!!

Aren’t these homemade scrubs just wonderful? And they are so easy to make. Who on earth would spend bucks on those chemically treated scrubs when one has a choice of using such natural and effective scrubs. What say?
