Karva Chauth is very famous and one day festival which is been celebrated by Hindu women in Northern region of India. In this festival married women fast from sunrise to moonrise for longevity and safety of their husbands.

This festival is very approaching. Preparation for this festival begins few days before. In this women buy new dress, cosmetics, jewelry and puja related items. In this fast woman does not eat as well as drink anything. They even don’t drink a glass of water. 

When women look at moon and her husband through channi or dupatta they broke their fast. Then water is offered to god moon. This fast is performed for prosperous and long life of their husband.

In market and now days you can buy saree from their great and grand collection. Women you can choose colors like red, maroon, mustard, emerald, scarlet etc.

You can also wear your lehenga as a saree. You can drape your lehenga dupatta as a pallu and then take it on your shoulder.

 Mehendi tip for karva chaut: After applying henna, take lemon juice and sugar mix them together and with cotton apply on your hands. Let it dry then you can repeat it once again. To rub your mehendi you must not use water. You can rub both hands together to take off your mehendi. In a tawa or kadai heat clove and steams your hand to get dark mehendi color. Girls you can also apply mustard oil or Vaseline to your hand. 

Makeup tips for this karwa chauth:

For eyes: Many women love to wear dark clothes like maroon on this day, you can apply bronze eye shadow or copper or dark maroon or gold.

For lips: You can apply dark lipstick like red or maroon if you have fair complexion. Apply shimmer based makeup. You can also go for peacghy pink lipstick. I useally go for Maybelline collection. If you have dusky or wheatish complexion then apply bronzer brown lipstick and blush.

Evening makeup: Wash your face before applying makeup. Then apply foundation then eye shadow and lipstick. You can also try colored eyebliner. You need to curl your lashes or use mascara.

 As you are wearing traditional wear than go for nose ring at center parting of the hair you can apply sindoor. You can also have payal.
