Janmashtami Special Recipe – How to make perfect Sabudana Khichdi at home

As we all know Janmashtami is celebrated all over India on the occasion of birth of Lord Krishna. In this day I love to decorate my mandir with lots of lights and decorative items. 

I have fast on this day and thus make lots of delicious fasting food for my family. Today I will be sharing a recipe know as Sabudana Khichdi. It’s very easy to make but if all the ingredients are not taken in proper proportion then you won’t get perfect khichdi.

Have a look at this delicious recipe of Sabudana Khichdi:

Serve: 3

Ingredients:

Sabudana – 1 cup
Peeled and finely cut potato – 1 big
Peanut – 1 cup
Coconut grated – ½ cup
Green chilies finely cut – 5 to 6 nos
Sugar – ½ tsp
Lemon – 1
Coriander Leaves – 1 cup
Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
Ghee – 1 ½ tbsp
Rock Salt – As per taste

How to make?

Nicely wash Sabudana and soak it in water.
In a bowl mix all ingredients except potato, chilies, coriander and ghee.
Now take a pan and heat ghee.
Add potato and fry till it become golden brown.
Add chilies and stir nicely.
Now add Sabudana mixture and gently mix it nicely.
Cover the pan and let it cool on medium flame for 5 minutes.  Keep stirring so that it cooks properly.
Now take coriander and garnish nicely.
