Diwali is a festival which is celebrated in India for 5 days. It is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. Diwali festival falls between the month of October or November.

Indian’s majorly live in counties like Singapore, Nepal, Malaysia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa. Thus it is celebrated in these countries as well. 

As Christmas is celebrated by Christians same way Indian celebrates Diwali festival. Thus Diwali is important festival for Hindu. Diwali is not only celebrated by Hindu but it is also celebrated by other religions like Buddhism, Sikhism and also Jainism.

Today in my post will share with you simple and easy method to Celebrate Diwali: 

What is Diwali?


Diwali is festival of lights. Diwali is 5 days festival. 1st day of diwali is known as Dhanteras, 2nd day is known as narak chaturdashi, 3rd day is known as Lakshmi puja, 4th day is known as Balipratipada and 5th day is known as Bhai Dhooj. 

What should I buy in Diwali?


Many Indian’s buy ornaments and utensils on the 1st day of diwali. You can also buy cloths to yourself and your near and dear ones.

How to clean house in Diwali?

In diwali you need to clean your house as well as your business premises on before 1st day of diwali. Clean your rooms do laundry and sort out papers at your business and home. We clean our house in Diwali so that we throw out unnecessary elements from your environment. 

Take rice flour and draw small footprints over your house. This footprint indicates that Goddess Lakshmi will soon arrive. 

Decorate your entrance


You can decorate your house and office entrance by flower garlands, hanging small bells, lightening LED bulbs and diya’s, hanging mirrors. You can also draw beautiful rangoli using vibrant and colorful colors. 

Several types of Rangoli


All 5 days of diwali, draw different rangoli every day. In market you can get wooden plates where you can place them accordingly and arrange them. If you are a rangoli expert then draw creative rangoli. In our website you can browse for rangoli designs.

Why to burn diya’s every night during festival?


Oil lamps or diya’s are symbol of inner peace and it fights off any traces of ignorance and darkness.

Why to light firecrackers in Diwali?


Firecrackers are used in diwali as it symbolize destroy of evil from our surrounding. 

Be careful while lightening fireworks Always follow precaution and safety while burning fireworks, Take care of your children and pets as they have very frightening noises.

Wear new cloth


In diwali you need to wear new cloths and ornaments.

Prepare sweets, savouries and snacks


You can make traditional food like 7 cup burfi, chakali, poha, besan ladoo, chivda, gulab jamn. Jalebi etc. 

Perform lakshmi pooja


On 3rd day of you need to perform lakshmi pooja. This pooja is celebrated to seek blessings from goddess of wealth that help us to gain wealth. You can take gold or silver coin and offer prayer and aarti for peaceful atmosphere. 

Play games


In diwali many family play games like pass the parcel, rummy, hide and seek, musical chair and many more.

You can play card games with money.
